Engineering background, since 2008
Genezis Electronics Kft. was founded in 2008 by Csaba Mészáros and Josip Kovács, electrical engineers who graduated from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Over the years the company has evolved from a technical trading business into a renewable energy holding, focused today on its own solar portfolio, ancillary services and energy storage.
Our engineering background still defines how we work: we design, supervise and operate our plants ourselves, and base our technology decisions on first-hand experience.
What we do
Genezis Electronics Kft. is a Hungarian-owned renewable energy holding company. We develop, own and operate solar power plants, provide flexibility services to the electricity system, and build energy storage alongside our plants.
Solar power plants
Our portfolio consists of plants under feed-in tariff (KÁT), premium (METÁR) and merchant schemes, held in project companies. Our in-house engineering team manages the full lifecycle, from development, permitting and grid connection to long-term operation.
Ancillary services
With our reserve-providing assets we participate in the Hungarian balancing market (aFRR) through aggregators, contributing to the stable operation of the grid.
Energy storage
We are extending our existing plants with battery energy storage systems (BESS) so that the energy we generate reaches the grid where and when it has the most value. Construction and permitting are under way at several sites.

Developments
The portfolio keeps growing. We are adding battery energy storage to our existing solar plants, developing new plants and expanding our reserve-providing assets, so that we can offer the electricity system ever more flexibility.
Our own engineering team carries each development through permitting, construction and commissioning, in cooperation with the group’s operations company, BST Solar Kft.
Energy storage next to our plants
Battery energy storage (BESS) is the next step for our portfolio: storage lets us shift solar generation in time, reduce the impact of grid curtailment, and take our plants into the balancing market.
Permitting and construction of storage extensions are under way at several sites. We design, integrate and commission the systems within the group.
